About
Greetings! I am a New York City based knitrix. I enjoy sharing my craft and learning more from my fellow knitters as well as with family members and friends through my hand made gifts. My knitting friends would say that I haven’t found a pattern that I couldn’t modify to meet my needs, which is a nice way of saying that I make a change in almost every piece I knit. I always have a knitting project or two stashed in my bag since a spare moment whether on the subway or watching television is always an excuse for knitting.
Despite my mother’s trying to teach herself to knit left handed, I picked up a pair of yellow plastic needles and a cone of synthetic yarn and taught myself to knit continental style when I was about 11. I learned to crochet in a similar way although I only use it to enhance my knitted work.
After a long hiatus, I was inspired to knit at a Knit Out New York in Union Square about 5 years ago. Despite my vow to never build a stash, like many of my fellow knitters, I continually fight the battle of the overflowing stash since there is always more fiber to be accumulated. While I tend to be value-focused, I can find myself under the influence of other knitters which can lead to yarn splurgs!
I am a regular at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival and the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival where my focus is on buying yarn rather than the animals. The ability to purchase wool from small producers and hand dyers is a great treat!
When traveling, I always make a point of visiting the local yarn establishments.

the magic loop KAL began yesterday and i joined it — after a week of struggling along alone. already my tchnique has improved by starting anew and concentrating in a different way.
the timing is amazing: in addition i got my knitpicks set of wood modulars today. or yesterday, had i been at office!
ravelry offers incredible focus and resource. am looking fwd to all kinds of discoveries.
