Sit 'n' Knit Meetup in New York City
I joined the New York City Sit ‘n’ Knit Meetup which met at the Citigroup atrium. It’s a great group of women who are open and welcoming (although you’re supposed towear a name tag to help everyone with names, something that I dislike doing.)
Anne-Marie who runs the group is extremely friendly and good at getting everyone in the group involved. She seems to know everyone in the group. I was impressed with the group’s diversity in terms of knitting experience and types of projects. Two of the projects that impressed me were a double knitted scarf in blue and tan alpaca and a circular shawl in silk lace weight from Victorian Lace Today. Bottom line was that the group made everyone feel welcome.
Many of the members brought in some older UFOs to complete and got advice from the group on how to finish them so that they could move on to more exciting new projects. I continued to work on my Dad’s Classic Ribbed Pullover which I’m trying to finish for him some time before the end of the winter.

More information about Silk City Fibers in Paterson, NJ where I got the yarn for my Dad’s sweater.

Great resource for putting projects (and sweaters in particular) together is Sally Melville’s The Purl Stitch.
This was the alternative method for the left twist that I mentioned to you this week for the Printed Silk Cardigan… Lolly writes about it on her blog:
